Privacy Policy

Serlinger Ai ("we," "us") operates serlinger-ai.com. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and how it's handled. We're Nigeria-based, and this policy is written with the Nigeria Data Protection Act/NDPR in mind.

1. What we collect

• Account info: your name and email (from Google sign-in, or the email/password you register with — passwords are hashed, never stored in plain text).
• Content you submit: YouTube links or uploaded video files you ask us to process, and the reels/captions generated from them.
• Billing info: your plan, payment status, and transaction references. Paystack processes your actual card/payment details directly — we never see or store your card number.
• Support messages: anything you send us via the support form or support@serlinger-ai.com.
• Basic usage data: how many reels you've generated this month, for enforcing plan limits.

2. How we use it

To provide the service (processing your videos, enforcing plan limits, letting you sign in and manage your account), to process payments, to send transactional emails (welcome, payment receipts, job-done notifications, and replies to your support messages), and to respond to support requests. We don't sell your data, and we don't use your submitted video content for anything other than generating the reels you asked for.

3. Who we share it with

We use a small number of third-party services to run Serlinger Ai, each processing a limited slice of your data:

• Google — if you sign in with Google.
• Paystack — payment processing (Nigeria).
• Resend — sending transactional emails.
• Fly.io and Neon — application hosting and database storage.

We don't share your data with advertisers or data brokers, and we don't run third-party advertising trackers on this site.

4. Data retention

Uploaded videos, rendered reels, and job files are automatically and permanently deleted after your plan's retention window (2 hours to 30 days, depending on plan). Account data (email, name, billing history) is kept for as long as your account exists. If you want your account and associated data deleted, email support@serlinger-ai.com and we'll process the request.

5. Cookies

We use cookies only for authentication (keeping you signed in) — not for advertising or third-party tracking.

6. Your rights

You can ask us to access, correct, or delete your personal data at any time by emailing support@serlinger-ai.com. We'll respond within a reasonable time.

7. Data security

Data is transmitted over encrypted (HTTPS) connections and stored with providers (Fly.io, Neon) that encrypt data at rest. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable, industry-standard measures to protect your data.

8. Children

Serlinger Ai isn't intended for anyone under 18. We don't knowingly collect data from children.

9. International hosting

Our servers and database run outside Nigeria (currently the UK/EU), chosen for network performance rather than data residency. By using Serlinger Ai you consent to your data being processed there.

10. Changes

We may update this policy from time to time; the date at the top will reflect the latest revision.
